Period: 1 and 2
- This course covers licensing, registering of vehicles, insurance requirements, rules of the road, driving techniques, and driver attitudes. The final exam is the N.J. Division of Motor Vehicles test. A grade of 80 is necessary to pass the State exam. An 80 average for the course is required to receive credit toward a safe-driving insurance discount. Students who take a make-up test (permitted one time only) which results in their receiving yet another score below 80 on the Driver Education state exam will be required to contact New Jersey Motor Vehicles and take the test on their own.

Week of September 14, 2015
1) We will continue with chapter 1 and 2. We will be covering digital drivers licenses, the GDL program, 6 Points of Identification, Road Tests and Reasons for Rejection from the road test. We will then move on to Ch. 3 and Driver Responsibilities next week.
2) Current Event #1 is due. Please include reaction write up.
Week of September 21, 2014
1) We will break up into our groups and work on chapter 3. When complete we will present and discuss the following topics:
New Jersey's seat belt law, car seats, child restraint law, car condition, steering, speed control, stopping distances,proper braking,
driving signals, turning and parking.
2) Current Event # 2 is due. Include reaction page.
3) I will discuss and explain my new Driver Education website including the blog page. Each week every student must read the question or article on the blog page and leave a 2-4 sentence comment.
Week of October 12, 2014
1) Will hand back Unit #1 test and go over
2) Current Event article #6 is due
3) Blog #3 is due
4) Watch teen driving video
5) Begin chapter #5 and complete worksheet
6) Next week phone application assignment
